Artistry in Different Mediums

Art expresses emotions and point of views, challenging the creativity to conjure things that are a little out of the ordinary.

Stylish sisters Maxine and Michelline Syjuco's recent, respective artworks were launched at Cura V in The Powerplant Mall. "A Secret Life" is Maxine Syjuco's first published collection of intimate poems. Also in display are her framed works of art that show different facets of life. I seldom see Maxine but I can always expect an intriguing glimpse on her thoughts through her creations.

Michelline Syjuco's 'Sculptural Minaudiere' collection is one of the more avant garde, Filipino-designed clutches and evening bags that I've recently seen around the metro. Recycled materials were used from the wood to each of the metal details. What's more interesting is the animal-skin lining that adds an extra sexiness to these extraordinary bags. It might seem heavy with the materials used, but I must say that the weight is just alright.

This clutch has got to be my ultimate fave. It's simple, yet chic and classy. I've always used clutches during parties and this would be a unique piece to parade during a stylish event.

Cura V is located at The Powerplant Mall.
