Quirky... I didn't imagine the Burberry Prorsum collection for Spring 2012 to be quite eclectic and somehow vintage. The collection was aptly called "Handcrafted Heritage" presenting an amusing mash up of vibrant colors, textures and patterns. Some patterns were even reminiscent of old American Indian tribes. This collection by Christopher Bailey greatly deviates from the usual Burberry aesthetic of solid colored or checkered to plaid pieces.
Oversized parkas were worn over printed or knitted shirts.
Trench coats - signature pieces that everybody adores from Burberry - were also oversized with patterns or trimmings on the collars and cuffs.
The most prominent piece in the entire collection is the woven cap in different colors. Other accessories included woven straw or printed patterns on moccasins and bags staying true to the theme of the collection.
